These 3 moves I’m sharing with you today are important to getting started with Barre.
“Plies on Demi-Pointe” focuses on the lower abdominals by maintaining a slightly tucked position with the pelvis. This also ensures proper spinal alignment when performing the exercise. It also targets some of the bigger muscles such as the quadriceps and the gluteus maximus.
“Arabesque” targets the abdominal muscles by helping to stabilize the entire spine in a “Table-Top” or flat back position. This also ensures proper spinal alignment which helps prevent injury. This exercise also targets larger muscles like the hamstring and gluteus maximus. Working these muscles helps with weight loss and fat burning.
“Reach and Pull” primarily targets the obliques and the gluteus medius and minimus. This exercise is a real calorie torcher. The “Reach and Pull” is a total body Barre exercise that revs up your metabolism and engages muscles that you haven’t used in years!
You will definitely feel the burn as you go through this workout and you'll probably feel a little sore tomorrow. That means it's working!
